Would You Like To Own Your Own Home?

Our homeownership program is available to eligible residents of Temple and Belton.  It may be able to assist you in owning your own home at a cost comparable to your monthly rental payment.

 

Are You Concerned About The Up-Front Costs (Downpayment And Closing Costs)?

Our program offers down payment assistance to help defray all or part of approved up-front costs. The amount of assistance provided is up to $17,500.00 per approved applicant.  The assistance is in the form of a five or ten-year deferred, forgivable loan at zero percent interest. 

 

How Do You Qualify For This Program?

If the gross annual income of your household falls within the limits listed below and you are a qualified homebuyer, you may be eligible for this program.

The cities of Temple and Belton have also committed to providing $2,500 in additional down payment assistance per approved homebuyer.

If you do not exceed the maximum income listed above for your family size, you will be referred to a participating financial institution to determine the amount of mortgage loan for which you qualify.  You will then be referred to a participating builder to choose the house that best suits your financial and physical needs.

What Type Of House Is Being Constructed?

The houses in this program are of new construction and will generally range in size from 1100 to 1280 square feet, 2 to 4 bedrooms, 1 or 2 bathrooms, central heating and air conditioning and have energy efficient components.
